Cristina Camara is a Brazilian fine artist and photographer who currently lives and works in Paris, Brussels and Rio.

Cristina graduated from Law School in Rio de Janeiro (1987) and moved to London in 1989.
She studied Portfolio Fashion Illustration at the City Lit of London (1990-1991) then lived in Paris until 1996 when she returned to London to take a Foundation Year at the Chelsea College of Art followed by a BA Honours Fine Arts at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design (2000). She obtained a masters degree in Contemporary Art Photography and Film Studies in 2003 and her work has been exhibited in Sao Paulo, London and Brussels.

Cristina Camara continues to draw influence primarily from films, using images to tell a story and spinning filmic narratives, structuring a scenario for her photographs by carefully choosing fetish and surreal elements or animals and she places them in a theatrical mis en scène, creating visual metaphors.
